When the film premiered Highlander hit bookstores official adaptation of the film by Garry Kilworth. The novel had several differences from the movie such as the fact that Connor would use a wakizashi instead of a katana, and included several scenes not seen in the film. Some of them were present in the original novel but others were completely new. Were entirely imagined by Kilworth or come from some version of the script?
THE Kurgan vs THE MONGOL
(at the beginning of the novel, just before the battle between Macleod and Fraser)
We describe a battle between Kurgan and an immortal known as the Mongol. Both immortals fighting on horseback and overcomes Kurgan. We are told that the Mongol was his third victim and hoped that Connor is the fourth.
FIGHTING WITH THE FRASER
The Fraser hung Connor's father, why they went to fight them.
ANGUS MACDONALD, THE FATHER OF HEATHER (as Heather Connor met)
Heather Connor met shortly after been exiled from his people. After getting rid of stocks Macleod met Heather when she was milking the cows and asked for some milk. At first Angus Macdonald, the father of Heather, Connor distrusted but just finally becoming his pupil and taught him the trade of blacksmith. After the death of Angus, Heather Connor married and live together until his death.
HEATHER DISCOVER THE SECRET OF CONNOR AND RAMIREZ
(This scene would take place just before the arrival of Kurgan, when Ramirez Heather was telling his adventures while drinking wine)
up to hunt and Heather Ramirez leaves alone. Ramirez questioned her about the reasons that brought him to Scotland and she feels that the two are connected in some way. Ramirez tells all about the immortals and advises him to leave Connor as in any way could have children with him. She decides to continue with Connor who would have liked to have children but only if they were of Connor, and if you can never have them then so be it.

Ramirez then he's telling several anecdotes of his life, including the one shown in the movie (and that's when appears Kurgan).
BRENDA: YOUR FATHER AND BEDSOE
found that Brenda's passion for guns comes from his father, Peter Wyatt , who is also an expert on antique weapons, and warns that should not be mixed with Russel Nash is one of the main suspects in the case.
Bedsoe also found that feelings for Brenda and she knows it. Apparently the reason I watched Bedsoe Brenda's house when he went to dinner with Connor was because she had asked. In told police she wanted to talk to Connor about antiques but as he was one of the main suspects asked if there was protection for anything.
( this scene takes place the day before their first encounter in the film)
Connor is mounted in the subway when a group of punks bothering him. Kastagir appear and teach both their swords flees the band thinking that the two are some sort of vigilantes, as in Death Wish Charles Brownson). Kastagir tells of being the next day at the bridge, as in the movie.
Connor Kastagir and remember the last time they met in 1879. Connor had fought during the Zulu wars and was arrested by men of Cetawayo surprised that the Highlander had not died. There he meets Kastagir which he says he will do battle against a warrior who seems to be immortal. Connor kills Kastagir warrior and discovers that he had been misled. At night, the two immortal Kastagir escape and took him to the British camp.
NOTE: this scene contradicts explained in other films and TV series that immortals can feel each other (the famous Buzz) as Connor just discovered that their enemy is not immortal when he sees has died without having his head cut off.)
(although the scene of the duel was in the movie, the novel traces his origin).
Kastagir Connor and remember the last time they met. In the famous party Connor had to escape from a woman he was stalking. Try to escape from a bedroom but she follows him and takes off her clothes. Her husband catches them and that's when Connor challenges to a duel of honor (The famous duel where a drunk Connor stands despite the thrusts of her husband).
